You begin with a regular deck. A card is freely selected and returned. When the cards are spread face up, one card is face down—and it’s tiny. Not a trick of perspective. Not a quick gag. A genuinely shrunken card sitting among full-size cards.

You remove it. In an instant, it snaps back to normal size.

Historical Significance In Magic:

This effect has evolved from Micro Macro which was created by Brother John Hamman (September 3, 1927–December 5, 2000).

In 1994, Michael Powers created a variation of Hamman's effect called Diminishing Returns. He recently updated his variation and called it, The New Diminishing Returns.

In this latest variation, The Incredible Shrinking Deck, Magic Makers have created original routines and a special design with its mini-faces and mini-bicycle backs. The intended design of this deck allows for a variety in routines for multiple performances in a single setting.
